Dr. House goes under the scalpel
And if for once, Dr House put himself in the shoes of the patient?
Until the arrival of Gregory House in 2007, the image of the doctor in the series was rather stereotyped: attractive handsome kid, a bit smooth, as good at operating as at flirting. Then came House, an obnoxious, solitary, lame character, able to announce to a patient his impending death without the slightest empathy, denigrating his collaborators.
A detestable character… but adored by an average of 9 million viewers in France. We wanted to offer House as a patient and list all the ailments he suffers from in order to understand him better: obsessive behavioral disorders with women, phobia of happiness that can lead to a desire for self-destruction, syndrome of sadism with his patients, degree systematic manipulation with his team… Is it serious, Doctor?
On the couch, Hugh Laurie confesses, analyzes his character’s attitudes himself, gives us explanations about his difficult relationships with others, but also anecdotes and memories of filming.
